3 DAY SYSTEM SCAFFOLDING COURSE

ONSITE – BUILDERS/MAINTENANCE STAFF – COMPANY SYSTEM SCAFFOLDING TRAINING COURSE OUTLINE

Max Attendees: Nine
Course Duration: 3 Day Course. 9am start. Finish no later than 4pm.
Days 1 and 2  covers Safety Harness, Manual Handling, SG4, Erection and Dismantle of  specific System Scaffolding
Day 3 covers the altering and inspection of specific System Scaffold
Suitable Attendees: Staff/operatives working within a multi-disciplined team/builders/joiners/roofers etc.
Course Aim: To ensure an understanding in the methods of safe erection, dismantling, altering and inspection of specific system scaffold.

Objectives: To enable members of a multi-disciplined team/building company:
• To erect and dismantle basic system scaffolds in line with the systems Manufacturers Instruction Manual (MIM)
   to a maximum working platform height of six metres (6m)  Excludes tube and fitting scaffolds.
• To inspect basic system scaffold covered within the course, non designed, to ensure compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005,  MIM and SG4

• Specific System Scaffold Erection & Altering/Repositioning of platform/hop-up brackets.
• Specific System Scaffold Dismantling
• Specific Scaffold Inspection Training (System Scaffold Specific)
• Theory Assessment (80% pass mark)
• Practical Assessment (100% pass mark)

Notes:
• This is a full participation course. All aspects of the course must be completed by the delegate to pass. Course material makes specific reference  to the Work at Height Regulations 2005, the relevant manufacturer’s instruction manual and SG4; Preventing Falls in Scaffolding.
• We can provide a material list for the customer to allow sourcing of the materials prior to the commencement of the course. Please  arrange this ASAP directly with Excel Training International.
• This course does not cover scaffolding activities beyond a six metre working platform height or tube and fitting scaffolds
• Structures covered are basic independent + return + ladder access + towers . Loading bays can be included at client’s request  subject to obtaining correct components.
• Delegates must bring: Hard Hat, Safety Footwear, Safety Harness with double sling lanyard, Gloves, Belt & Tools, Wet Weather Clothing and any other PPE  deemed to be necessary to comply with their employers H & S policy.  The employer or sponsor confirms that delegates are fit to participate.

  1. Delegates must score 100% in the practical assessment and a minimum of 80% in the theory assessment.  The employer/sponsor must inform the course trainer about any additional help required with reading/writing.  The course will be delivered in the English language. Employers/sponsors must provide delegates who do not speak English with an interpreter.
  2. All scaffolds are dismantled before the trainer departs from the site.

Certification: Successful candidates will receive an Excel Training International (ETi) Certificate of  Training valid for three years. A one day refresher course is available provided it is completed before the three year certificate expires.  Customers are advised to book the one day refresher course at least four months in advance.
